The Singapore Sling was first created as a lady's cocktail in the early 20th century between 1910-1915 by Hainanese bartender Mr Ngiam Tong Boon from Raffles Hotel. The cocktail's popularity flourished among foreigners and became synonymous with the garden city today. However, the inconsistency in taste, texture and even quality started to surface and challenged the cocktail's reputation as demands of the famed cocktail grew.
It all started when Mr Chow, owner and founder of True Heritage Brew (Singapore) Pte Ltd, embarked on his quest to glorify and perfect the Singapore Sling almost 20 years ago. Faced with the same inconsistencies, he finally developed the Singapore Sling Original Mix to deliver the original taste and alcoholic rush.
Founded in 2004, True Heritage Brew (Singapore) Pte Ltd (THB) is a member of Chowiz Group of Companies that aims to spearhead the food and beverages range under the group. Beginning with Singapore and the regional countries, THB will rationalise and focus the sales and marketing resources for Asean food and beverages. Its maiden and flagship product, the THB Singapore Sling Original Mix, was successfully launched in August 2005, leading to the opening of a THB Singapore Sling Boutique in Clarke Quay in January 2007.
