The course is designed as a review for experienced neurosurgeons in the areas of surgical approaches, microsurgical techniques and measures to avoid intraoperative complications.
The world's leading microneurosurgical anatomist Professor Albert L. Rhoton (from Florida, USA) together with the internationally renowned and superb master neurosurgeon Professor Evandro de Oliviera (from Sao Paulo, Brazil) will be the invited faculty leading this course.
Operative pearls, nuances in microsurgery, pitfalls and complication avoidance will be covered in the sessions through a mixture of didactic lectures, actual hands-on cadaveric dissection, operative videos and group discussions.
Areas covered will include:
- Neuromicrosurgical anatomy
- Microsurgery of aneurysms and AVMs
- EC-IC bypass surgery
- Skull Base approaches (orbito-zygomatic,middle fossa, petrosal, far lateral, etc)
- Brainstem and Pineal region approaches
- Intraventricular approaches |
