Details
Have you provided your family with sufficient hospitalisation insurance?
Don't wait until it's too late - major illness can strike anyone, anytime.
Once an illness strikes, no insurance company will accept coverage for it.
Is Medishield sufficient?
Medishield payouts are subjected to limits. For example, spinal implants can
cost up to $18,000. Medishield allows up to $2,500 and government subsidy for
implants are capped at $500 for Class C and B2 patient. Total cash required
would be $18,000 - $2,500 - $500 = $15,000.
Medishield also sets other limits such as yearly maximum claim limits of $50,000
and lifetime limit of $200,000. Also maximum coverage age is up to age 85.
Is my company's group insurance scheme sufficient?
It may be enough right now. But it is not portable. When you leave your company,
the coverage stops. At that time, if anyone in the family contracts a major illness, that person would become uninsurable.
