What flooring should I use? Tiles or laminate?

Hi, anyone got any good advise on flooring. I am torn between using tiles or laminate. I'm just wondering which one is good to use in my floor? Some of my friends told me to use laminate but some says it's not good to use. Can you guys tell me which is better? tiles or laminate?
