Founded in October 1998 by Alvin Kor and Melise Tan as a partnership, Homemaker was a home start up business which pioneered in professional housekeeping services.

Homemaker was the first to hire full time local staffs, provide the appropriate training and logistic support to service a market that was served mainly by localpart time and foreign maids.

Currently, homemaker is recognised as the largest home services company in Singapore.

Up until now, local domestic help has been either difficult to find or not even professionally trained. This has meant that many local households had to resort to foreign lived-in maids even though they do not need or want a full-time lived-in help.
