Introduction
This comprehensive programme is designed for overseas students whose first language is not English. It aims to develop the students' speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. Through a range of useful and practical topics, the programme builds confidence in the students as well as prepares them for further studies in English.
The programme has 3 stages and 6 levels:
- Basic (Level 1)
- Basic (Level 2)
- Intermediate (Level 3)
- Intermediate (Level 4)
- Advanced (Level 5)
- Advanced (Level 6)
Duration
12 months
Each level can be completed in 5 weeks.
International students holding student passes are required to enrol for at least 4 levels.
A shorter duration will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Award
The AEC English Language certificate will be awarded to students upon successful completion of the course.
Assessment
Students are assessed through weekly and monthly tests. Those who pass the monthly tests will be promoted to the next higher level.
Delivery Method
The lessons are delivered through a repertoire of lectures, class discussion, presentations, role-plays and experiential activities.

Medical Check: Upon obtaining of approval of student pass, you are advised to make a provision of $100 - $200 for medical checks and visa required by the immigration authority in Singapore. The usual cost of the medical check up will be approximately S$60 - S$80.
Living Costs: Students staying in Singapore will incur expenses of approximately S$600 - S$800 a month including transportation, food and housing (room sharing costs). This is an estimate and will depend on the lifestyle of the student.
- Registration and sponsorship fees are one-off fees. Registration Fee is non-refundable.
- The sponsorship fee is refundable subject to terms and conditions and is not applicable for local students.
- From 1 December 2004, International students will enter a standard contract with AEC College Pte Ltd. Students may request a copy of the Student Contract for inspection.
