About Lance Lee
A portraiture, fashion & advertising photographer by profession, Lance Lee is a visual artist with a keen eye for human expressions and body languages.
In 1997, Lance's career began with a 3-year working experience photographing news and feature stories for The Straits Times. His beginnings as a photojournalist and his passion in the documentary of the human condition contributes to his reputation as a versatile and expressive fashion photographer.
Lance's strength in portraiture and fashion works leads him to exciting and challenging projects like photography for Singapore Idol Taufik Bautisah's debut album, MM Lee Kuan Yew's book "Keeping My Mandarin Alive" and Singapore's Tatler's "Ten Most Stylish Women in Singapore 2005"
His highly imaginative and creative mind shows in a strong conceptual portfolio featuring works collaborated with top fashion stylists such as Luke Elijah, Vik Lim and top show producers like Daniel Boyle.
In 2003, Lance published his first photography book "My Sisters: Their Stories" - a photo-documentary about transsexuals in Asia.
His documentary images of the SARS crisis in 2004 are published in two books ">38ºc Remembering Sars" and "The Silent War". The photographs are also shown in a two-month photo-exhibition at the Singapore History Museum in September 2004.
In 2005, Lance is commissioned by World Scientific Publishing to photograph Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew for his book "Keeping My Mandarin Alive"
