Korea Ski with Homestay (YMCA)

In partnership with Korea’s Chuncheon YMCA, Y Korea Ski @ Daemyung offers youth in full-time education a unique opportunity to pick up the exhilarating winter sport of either skiing or snowboarding; as well as gain exceptional insight into Korean culture and friendship through homestays.

Daemyung Ski Resort is situated at an altitude of 600m. The resort is renowned as a “beginner’s paradise” because of its 150m- wide slope, Korea’s longest slope for beginner’s. There are 13 slopes in all, 10 lifts including the gondola. The slopes, open 24 hours, are especially loved by winter sports enthusiasts. Enjoy the snow and breathtakingly beautiful scenery of Kangwon province, at a resort offering the finest natural conditions.

ChunCheon is located 80 km to the northeast of Seoul, a central location _disibledevent="on">Korean Peninsula. The scenic beauty of ChunCheon has made it a popular place for the filming of Korean dramas and movies.

NYAA (National Youth Achievement Award) participants can also use the ski camps to fulfill the Expedition / Excursion component of the NYAA Gold Award.

Cost includes:

1. ALL meals, accommodation, land transfers, complete three days ski camp with dedicated YMCA Singapore & YMCA Korea leaders/ staff to lead and accompany participants throughout the trip
2. Ski camp inclusive of lessons, ski wear and equipment rental, day and night ski passes
3. Two-nights home-stay hosted by a Korean Family
4. Cultural exchange with local Korean youth
5. A pre-trip lesson in basic Korean language
6. Pre-camp briefing
