My craziest shopping moment will be in Milan. It is a city even when a non-shopaholic will turn into one, especially when they have sale on! I did a 4 days, 12 hour non-stop daily shopping, hopping from H&Ms/TOPSHOP to GUCCI/LV and Prada. In H&M due to the limitations of pieces I can try per round, my husband perpetually became the “mobile rack”, hanging on to all the items I pick up while I try them on. I ended up spending an average of 2 and a half hours in every H&M store walking out with 1 grand euro of clothing and most amazing accessories. Best buys were Prada which were cheaper there especially with the tax rebate. GUCCI bags/wallets were on sale which can go as low as 50% of the retail prices in SG. I also managed to get a Moschino dress which was retailing at 1 grand for $200 bucks. The fit and detailing were fabulous!! What’s most important, it is made in Italy!!

Most guys don't do shopping, and I thought I was one of them, until my wife became pregnant and we suddenly had to buy MANY things for our baby. Being Singaporean, I naturally settled for a simple strategy: WAIT FOR SALE! Everytime we saw something in stores that we might buy, we bid our tongue and patiently waited for the sales. And when recently there was a huge 3-day BabyCare Festival in Expo, we took our strategy to the utmost: I checked the internet in advance for vendor details, surfed for reviews for products that would likely appear, so that I could have an idea of which products are better, checked forums for comments, even forums with mostly mommies in them. We intended to subscribe to a particular parenting magazine at the fair, and they were offering a choice of freebies, so I EVEN ANALYZED which freebie we should get! My wife was just as diligent: she took an inventory of some of the stuff we had, from clothes and specific sizing, and then made a detailed list of what we had to buy for baby, all specifically tailored for us. On the 1st day, I confidently drove my car into Expo, but somehow managed to park at the back of the exact hall itself. We walked in quickly, thinking that people had already strolled in, but where surprised to see only vendors and sales persons around. Just seconds later, we would hear an announcement over the intercom “Dear exhibitors, we are now opening the hall to customers.” My wife and I looked at each other, stunned, and then laughed. Needless to say, we stuck to the strategy, combing through every booth, and checking our lists every now and then. We had to make many trips to the car, as diapers and other baby products can be very builky, making it difficult to navigate the crowded walkway. All in all, we went back all 3 days, to go back for items in colours that we want, and to buy anything that was re-stocked! As I said earlier, I thought I was one of those guys who don’t do shopping, but on those 3 days, I was like a mad man- going through every vendor in military precision and keeping tabs on which store offered better choices or better prices, so much so that my wife was the one who ‘surrendered’ after a while! Of course my perseverance paid off: we saved at least an estimated $2000 including so many freebies, compared to buying everything at normal prices!

I was in Bangkok on a holiday with my familiy a few years back. As part of the itinery, we were brought to a jewllery factory during one of the stops. With no intention to buy, I merely browse while my familiy walked about. We saw a pink sapphire diamond ring and thought it quite pretty. The sales girl found me a potential buyer and tried to close the deal. As I have no intention to buy, I told her nope. She followed me through the entire show room, stopping at each possible areas of the room trying to convince me to buy and giving me discounts after discounts. I refused but as she kept asking me to quote a price, I gave her one. She asked me to up slightly. So I increased a little, thinking it is still not possible to sell me that ring. True enough, despite numerous approval seeking, her boss did not agree. We finally reached the door of the show room. My family walked out first. She still refused to give up and continued to convince me that this is a good piece. I said I'll only buy if it's at the price I offered. One step before I fully stepped out, she agreed to the sale. I bought the ring at 50% off their initial price! Back in SG, I went to verify the authencity of the ring. It is a real pink sapphire diamond ring and till date, I've not seen a similar design in Singapore!

Last year, I won an all-expense paid trip to Tasmania and Melbourne. Thus, I could save on accomodation, transport and food (as long as they were part of the itinerary). That was really great asit meant that I could simply spend my money on shopping and more shopping! (Plus I heard that the package I'd won worth more than $9000). And that's what I did. We went to several wine valleys for wine-tasting sessions. I bought quite a number of bottles of wine as it was a really a rare chance to buy directly fromthe breweries. Plus some of the wines were really unique. It's impossible to find red champagne in Singapore right? The handmade candies looked really nice and colorful so I bought several bags for my friends and relatives. The clothes were also very interesting. The brand, Sportsgirl could no longer b found in Singapore so I bought quite a few tops. Plus, there were several clearance sales! I really shopped till I dropped (too bad their shops closed early at around 6-7pm, or else I would really swipe every single shop!) In the end, I could hardly close my luggage and had to be really gentle (due to the fragile bottle of candies and wine!) I think if I were to pay for the accomodation and everything, I would have to fork out more than 10k SGD!

Who says shopping is only for women? Guys also have shopping lists filled with things and numbers. Once, I’d only 1 item on mine: a pair of socks. I was about to pay when I remembered that I needed some locks. Some great-looking shoes were in front of me so I stopped to try. The sandals felt comfortable too so 3 pairs of footwear I would buy. Looking at my half-filled cart, I shook my head and got ready to pay. However, those cool-looking bags on my right made me want to stay. No harm looking; in the end, I was caught between two. I took both so that I wouldn’t have to choose. I realized a tear in my T-shirt so I decided to buy a new one, And bought a few more pieces to last me for the next few months. After grabbing some cheap shorts and underwear, I realized something. Dear Dear’s birthday was coming and I had not gotten her anything. So a sexy bikini and a branded bag would be her presents. I dashed to the nearest cashier but I was stopped by a promoter who talked nonsense… …which I believed in and two new frying pans landed in my cart. Finally, I managed to pay and got out of the mart. From a $2 pair of socks to a $499 bill, I would never want to shop again…unless there’s a sale!

I caught sight of this beautiful dress in Warehouse, unfortunately i was in a rush and promised to be back the next day. I was, but to my horror! Those in my size were sold out! Several calls and checks later, I was told my the salesgirl that they were all sold out in that size. But i'm not one to give up that easily. I tried placing an order from their UK website for it, even registering with Vpost first so i could get it delivered to vpostuk as they did not do international shipping, only to be told later that they could not process my order as my credit card was not a uk-based one. None of my friends were in the uk either. But i was determined, once i've set my heart on something, i will not give up till i've gotten it! So I surfed ebay, ebay singapore, ebay US, ebay uk EVERY DAY for THREE months...till the dress finally popped up in ebay uk! I pounced on it immediately, emailed the seller begging for hr to mail it to Singapore and that i would cover all the costs incurred. She agreed to, on a shipping price of 13 pounds should i win the auction. This price was much more than the usual shipping costs from the uk which was usually 5-7 pounds. But i didn't care. I'm proud to say I won the bid and got the dress! And the icing on the cake was that the dress was about $250 in SIngapore, but i got mine for 33 pounds roughly about 80 sing dollars! So i got the dress and at a steal too! A true shopaholic's pride and dream! Now if that isn't a crazy shopaholic moment, i don't know what is!

The most craziest shopping experience ever was whenever I hit the Chatuchak market in Bangkok. Arriving in the wee morning, I will strategically start attacking from the side of the market. With map in hands and trolley bag, I entered the market with a mission-to shop like there is no tomorrow.I will only stop occasionally to quench my thirst and have a quick meal before resuming my mission. I target everything along my path Even the exotic animals and buskers. Lingerie, t-shirts, souveniors, shoes, bags, you just name it. Nothing can escape my attention.By seven pm, I would have cover practically the whole of the market and (",). I remember the very first trip there where I shop till I really had no more cash, not even a taxi to return to the hotel. It was a rather humilitating experience to beg the locals for some cash to go back. But I always come home satisfied. (",)

I am offended that my login name did not appear! I kid. Anyway I'm the one right below disguised as Ross (why the heck is the default name Ross?): Just like Rebecca Bloomwood, I cannot resist a pretty item or a sale. When I set my sights on an item, I will go to any lengths to get it. I've been eyeing a straw bag from Guess for ages.

Just like Rebecca Bloomwood, I cannot resist a pretty item or a sale. When I set my sights on an item, I will go to any lengths to get it. I've been eyeing a straw bag from Guess for ages. As a student, my finances were limited and the bag was out of my spending range. I never failed to walk past the same outlet everytime I went to that certain mall just to look at it. Then one day last year, there was a mega Takashimaya sale. Obviously, the bag I liked was there (If not I wouldn't mention the sale)! I saw a lady holding it, and I just knew. Unfortunately, it was the only one left. But I didn't give up. Like a sad stalker, my friend and I discretely followed the lady around the hall, pretending to look at the same items as her. I just knew that as long as she hadn't paid for it, I would have a chance with that bag. My ninja-like skills and intuition worked because, I saw the lady leave the hall WITHOUT the bag! In a moment of excitement, my friend (forced by me) scuttled like rats around the hall in search of the bag (which the lady had so impolitely dumped at a random spot!). All this, just for a $80 (after discount!) bag. Couldn't really believe it after, but having another nice bag to my collection is worth the hassle (and embarrassment). My best buys will always be my collection of shoes, bags and accessories. Everything is a deal to me because they're all so pretty. Within a span of a year I managed to have a basket of hairbands (not your simple plain plastic ones), no less than 20 shoes, 3 boxes (1metre x 50cm) full of bags, and three drawers of scarves. Don't get me started on my clothes! I may not be rich but I sure know how to utilize my money and resources to obtain slightly branded (DKNY, Topshop, Paul & Joe, Juicy Couture etc.) goods. I once blew a whole month's worth of pay (inbetween semester breaks) on a whole load of things which I didn't need! To be honest, I don't even remember what I bought exactly. I just grabbed whatever I fancied or looked really nice. That blind shopping spree was more than $1,000 worth of pay. I think some of the things I bought were: a Burberry teddy bear, a hula hoop, a Juicy Couture handphone case which DID NOT fit my handphone and a 'leather' pillow. Personal shopper anyone?

Shopping is just simply SHOP-PING! As in literally SHOP-PING(its means to "fight" or "give in your best" in chinese)? Shopping is definitely the best thing that can happen to any girl or bad thing for any guys but honestly, as compared to working(which depletes brain powers), its takes the least amount of effort and yields the best results. Here goes for my craziest shopping moment: It happened about a year ago when i'm still studying in JC and during the time when i was so tensed up during the 'A' level period. Nearing to the end of the 'A' levels i took 1 week to plan out what i am gonna slurpge and bomb right after the 'A' levels i spent 200 bucks in 1 day.that's a break-neck for a student who totally have zero income.

I love shopping for bargains and at sales events! The excitement, the joy and the accomplishments, that's just hard to put down in words. My recent trip to Hong Kong had my husband seeing red with my bags and bags of lovely shopping hunts. The bargaining part on the first night had him putting up his two hands to surrender that he would prefer to leave me alone while I do the hunting. Rows and rows of road side stalls where all my bargaining power are put into full force, sweet talking the stall owners into giving me a good price for the many lovely bags, clothings and fashion accessories. High end shops featuring sales of up to 70% were also my favourite hunt. Day times were spent sight seeing while night times were spent on my favourite shopping trips. Our six days trip were truly wonderful. I bought everything that I could possibly stuff into our 4 big luggages, from the hats, fashion jewelleries, dresses, shoes to the little sourveniers for my dearest friends and family. My dear hubby teased that I might have been purchasing enough goods to open a small push cart stall in Bugis, he sort of turned green from carrying all the things I have bought. Our luggages' weight sort of burst the weighing machines and hubby had to pay the extra weights' charges. The thousands spent there are well worth every cent for the once in a while indulgence.

I love Shopping. Shopping to me is far from just a form of recreation, but more of an addiction, an obsession, and as unlikely as it seems, shopping for me gives amazing therapeutic powers which far surpasses that of any other renowned spa in the world. My craziest shopping spree was probably one of the best times of my life, though it did burn a giant whole in my pocket, eating out a great deal of my income for that month and a few more months after that. Saying the amount was substantial would be a great understatement. It happened when I visited New York City with my best friend, if you’ve never been there you should book a trip NOW because the shopping there is just amazinggggggg. I spent the entire 9 days of free and easy travel with my friend, going crazy over the gorgeous buys at almost every corner in London. I bought 2 bags from Louis Vuitton, a second-hand (not used though, the label was still there!) dress from Versace at an incredible price of S$2,350 (trust me I was absolutely ASTOUNDED and grabbed it immediately) and lastly, a stunning chanel necklace. Of course, being the good girlfriend I was, I didn’t forget to buy my boyfriend a dashing suit from Hugo Boss at slightly less than a thousand. Altogether (including expenses for the trip) I spent about S$17,000 in total, an astronomical amount in terms of money yet a measly sum in terms of fashion. I love shopping… but I think you know that already. :’)

Shopaholic? How about Eataholic? I love to shop when I'm in Singapore but I love to eat as well! There was a time whereby I went shopping with my girlfriends who bought tons of clothes but nothing like me. I was on the spree mood that day, like Metro's "I am on a 'today-is-good-for-shopping' mood"! I bought tons of clothes, but all bargains, and when I ran out of cash, I used my emergency atm card, for this is an 'emergency', isn't it? After that, we went to pig out at Newton food center ordering stingray, hokkien mee, oyster omelette, etc. Guess what did we use to wash down our food? Horlicks. HAHA! Jessica_8999@hotmail.com

As a teenager, there's a limitation to the amount of money I possess; I can only drool over at luxury branded goods. However, when it comes to teens shopping paradise, such as Bugis Street, Parkway mall, etc., with so many affordable goods, I could quickly turn into a God of Prosperity for some lucky shop owners. I'm considered as one of the big spender among my friends. My saving balance always decelerates quickly without much consideration! At one ocassion, right after knowing that my first payment for my part-time weekend job was credited into my account, impulsiveness drove me to the ATM machine. And what to expect next, was a handful of solid cash stuffed into my purse. Then, I paced towards the nearby popular Bugis street, hypnotised by the attractive hot sale labels. I went on to proceed one shop after another. Happily browsing at the trends and tags on the shelf, and fetched my picks to the cashier like it was no big deal. Of course! I felt elated to have bought my very own skinny, belts, accessories, tops and bottom which I have always wanted. My purcheses could have filled up half of my pathetic wardrobe! But, before I knew it, my purse has had reduced in size, back to the original shape before my first trip to the ATM machine. On my way back, my heart ached a little, but somehow, I was pleased. It's like a mixture of feelings. Afterall, recalling back to the situation, I thought I must have been mad spending almost my whole month of salary at one go.

I buy too much for others, that is my worst habit! If i have money in the bank or in purse etc i have to spend it! I used to spend every last dollar on myself, and i was never happy even though i was wearing beautiful clothes n pretty shoes but my family were not. So now i have started to buy for my family! which is very big - i have 4 nieces, 5 nephews n a great nephew so i often find myself walking into the baby sections picking out pretty clothes or just standing in a shop thinking would such n such like this! yes ill buy it! even if they didnt need it! It simply makes my day too see them smile when they get new dollhouses or power rangers from Toys n Us, new pretty clothes from TANGS, little shoes from OG!But i have only just been hooked into ebay! n my god its costing me a fortune which i dont own!!! Yes, its fair enough bidding for things you want etc but i keep forgetting i have to pay pretty fast after i won it to get it!!! My latest buy is the Blue Label Burberry bag which cost much lesser than shops outside, so I am really satisfied with my bargain! ooops i am naughty i know!

HMM. i just came back for a bangkok trip and went crazy shopping. 5 days 4 nights and the afternoons were spent holing up in malls like platinum (omgosh i spent TWO days there please!) and nights were spent trawling night markets!!!! we( my friend and I) bought SO much that we had tobuy one of those 300Baht trolley bags to pull around while we shopped else our arms would have snapped by 12pm. hahahah and people were SO irritated with us because we kept blocking their way with the huge trolley bag but all the better because then, we had MORE space to shop! :D:D and the thing is we usually wake up at 4pm and start our day at 6pm but just for the sake of Bangkok and shopping, we woke up at 8am EVERY SINGLE DAY can you believe it! and the haggling woohoo we rock at haggling :D and although every piece was $5-6, we managed to blow 2k each on bags shoes clothes misc stuff and so you can guess just how much we bought! needless to say, we had to pay like 50bucks for luggage excess HAHA. so there. i heart shopping. i'm sure you guys do too! **hey why am i posted as Ross?!

I was in Hong Kong and decided to take a ferry to Macau for some sight-seeing and shopping with my boyfriend. We went through scores of shops selling souvenirs, their famous almond biscuits and peanut brittle, and gone through all the expensive and reasonable-priced boutique outlets and bought till our bodies were sore. In fact, we stayed so late that we almost missed the ferry back to Hong Kong! The worst thing was when we took the wrong bus out and ended up squashed against people with our things around us. The panic was almost intolerable and on the journey back, we had to run all the way to the ferry terminal from where the bus dropped us, with all our shopping bags flapping in the winds. If not for a delay in the returning ferry, we would definitely have been stuck there for the night!
