t requires the "it" factor, as well as appearance. On the other hand, if she doesn't want to pursue a career in the entertainment business, I don't think she need one. She can just sing in a cruise ship, and nobody cares! parking sensor

The answer is a big fat NO, she is who she is today and going through a makeover will not affect her singing

She's charming and very sympathetic being herself; a makeover is what she needs the least! She can really sing and all she needs is a nice hairdo and a proper make up to bring out the best of her and to make her look more presentable.

It depends on what she wants to be. If she wants to pursue a career in entertainment, OF COURSE she needs one! Entertainment business needs more than great voice. It requires the "it" factor, as well as appearance. On the other hand, if she doesn't want to pursue a career in the entertainment business, I don't think she need one. She can just sing in a cruise ship, and nobody cares!

She surely needs a makeover, e.g.: put up some make up on the face, go exercise to reduce weight, and change the hair style. If she become beautiful surely there will be many people to like her.

No way should she go for the makeover! She is what she is, that's why she's unique. If she looked like the average person out on the streets, she wouldn't have attracted so much attention.

The last thing Susan Boyle needed was a makeover. She had the edge with her "out-of-place" look and the make-over made her look just like anybody else. No doubt she has got some serious talent in singing, but there are plenty of people like her out there.

With the initial shock and awe out of the way, Miss Boyle will surely need a makeover in order to achieve her dream of becoming a singer. Her gawdly and matronly appearance served to lower everyone's expectations of her such that it became a pleasant, if not astonishing surprise that she could sing like star. And make no mistake, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Audiences aren't going to be fooled by her apperance from here on. No one is in doubt over her immense ability - and they would expect more and more from her each time she takes to the stage. The showbiz industry is brutal and unforgiving - her novelty will run out. History points to singing greats looking great at the same time. From Elvis and the Beatles to popstars of today, those who made the grade looked the part too. No doubt purists and romantics will argue against a makeover but success comes at a price. She will need a makeover but having said that, she needs to know not to cross the line into plastic surgery. Case in point, Michael Jackson. So, go for the great makeover and chase the dream, Miss Boyle.

I think she needs a make over to match her voice. She's not so bad but to make it perfect a make over is necessary . Dress her like Julia Roberts and Hair like Martha Stewart and you get a different Barbara Streisand

It is beautiful gift to have great voice. But in this world, she needs a make over to be responsible for herself and others as human still loves perfection. She is more welcomed when she has good look and voice.

No way! For a performer, the entire package is what he or she is about. And for Susan Boyle, part of what makes her fantastic is who she is. The shock value that she brings as the humbles all folks who pre-judge her. Now that's pure performance, exquisite entertainment. Furthermore, her appearance does not affect her confidence which she exudes even before winning the audience over. And that's the ultimate inspiration to everyone. She has the gift to give people hope, specially to people who are judged ugly on superficial terms. She will be a light to others wherever she goes! So, no, if it is not in her to want to change her own appearance, I'm all for that route. Part of being beautiful is one's confidence (despite all odds); being able and intelligent enough to recognise, hone and pursue one's strengths; yet being humble about it all!

Nancy, maybe it will help bring out YOUR emotion, not mine. I'm not as shallow.

She don't need one !!! Since she's comfortable to come forward and share her beautiful voice to the world !!! Why should she? She's great being herself. She is clearly beautiful the way she is. So there's no need for her to change anything.

Susan Boyle doesn't need a makeover to become a star. Look at Tina Turner and Mama Cass. Or Snoop Dogg.

Yes, a make-over will help her to bring out your emotion. Change the hair-style, her dressing and lose a few lb of her weight shall do the work.
