Daiso charcoal mask

I WOULDN’T have given this product a second glance if it were not highly recommended by one of my girlfriends.

Upon some research, I found out that Singaporeans call it the “Charcoal Mask”. Although most of what’s printed on the tube is still a mystery to most, if you can read Chinese, you can roughly gather that it’s a gray facemask. Would you trust your face with a product that costs only $2 and has no English instructions on it?

You should, because with this particular one, it gives immediate results. Although it won’t give you fairer skin in three weeks while you prance around in a white dress after applying it, it will extract the blackheads on your face. Remember Biore’s pore pack that lets you peel out blackheads with a nose strip? Daiso’s Charcoal Mask is exactly that, but for the entire face.

After applying the gooey jet-black mask on your face, give it 15 minutes to dry, and then peel it off. Be sure to do so only when it’s completely dry and stiff, as it would not peel off the blackheads effectively if it’s still moist.

The most satisfying part of this mask has to be observing the wormy blackheads stuck to the mask after you’ve peeled it off. My mum said that my face did actually look whiter afterwards, but I think it’s just psychological. (Anyone would agree with her if you’ve seen me walking around the house with a very black face for some time, and then without.)
