“With High Definition taking off in a big way, more and more consumers are looking at HD input from digital camcorders to enhance their viewing pleasure.” says Andrew Koh, director and general manager of the Consumer Imaging and Information Division at Canon Singapore. “The new Canon HV30 camcorder raises the bar for consumer camcorder capabilities and will cater to the needs of prosumers seeking cinematic HD viewing experiences.“ |
The Canon HV30HDV camcorder sets new standards for HD video and still recording quality with the use of Canon technologies and optics. The camcorder incorporates a True Full HD CMOS Sensor that delivers HD video footage with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.
The large 1/2.7-inch sensor size and the RGB Bayer Placement Technology delivers images with rich colour quality, and also superior performance under low light conditions with fine detail and minimal noise.
At the core of the new Canon HV30 camcorder is Canon’s proprietary DIGIC DV II Imaging Processor, which enables high-speed processing of HDV1080i data. Two separate processing paths for optimising video and still images at high-speed enables the camcorderto process 3-megapixel stills efficiently, while producing sharp, vibrant and life-like HDV footage and photographs with precise colour accuracy and a wide tonal range.
The Canon HV30 also incorporates a genuine Canon HD video aspherical lens with 10x optical zoom, calibrated to deliver the best performance from the True Full HD HD-CMOS sensor.
The demanding cinematographer will enjoy a range of sophisticated controls and features found only in high-end production camcorders such as:
- Instant Auto-Focus (AF) system provides fast, highly accurate auto focus, specifically designed for the increased requirements of HD recording.
- The 25p CINE Frame Rate and the Cine Mode that combine to offer the same smooth frame rates and cinematic tones of celluloid film.
- Full manual control is available, using tools like Zebra Function to adjust the camcorders settings — exposure, white balance, scene modes and more — to land that perfect scene
- Supported by the full range of video accessories like external microphones and video lights
- 2.7-inch Multi-Angle Vivid LCD screen that makes it easy to frame shots and review images from any angle, giving users a clear and accurate image from the LCD screen, even when viewing at extreme angles
- Use of tape media which means large capacities for high-resolution recordings at low compression rates of approximately 13Gb of 60 minutes of recording at a bit rate of 25Mbps
