IT’S summer and if men had their way, they’ll be parading around Orchard in their underwear — boxer briefs exploding with patterns and colours reminiscent of briefs for toddlers.

At the Singapore Fashion Festival’s “Sex-y In The City: The Men’s Underwear Show”, fashion-conscious men and women tropped to the Tent@Orchard on Friday afternoon to see the Spring/Summer ’08 collections of labels like John Galliano, Emporio Armani, DKNY, Punto Blanco, and regional labels like Renoma.

The more interesting and wearable designs came from Renoma: playful and yet wearable, sexy but not vulgar. It’s for the man who doesn’t want to grow up.

The highlight of the event, of course, was the much-ballyhooed appearance of former Calvin Klein model Marcus Schenkenberg, in his later 30s, whose well-proportioned body still beat all the young models in the runway.
