Lumont Milk Latter flavour
Almost equivilant to a cup of coffee, really!

When I heard that I was going to try out chocolates from Lumont Chocolatier, I was excited – no, not just because I had an excuse to stuff my face with chocolate, but I remember admiring their pieces through the glass and thinking how colourful and interesting they look.

Lumont’s chocolates are made from the finest Belgium chocolate, and I can definitely vouch for that, having experienced all the goodness of their chocolates and its bite-sized joys.

Lumont Truffles
Raspberry and lavender truffles are to die for
Seriously, if there’s one thing that I’ve discovered about Lumont, it’s their attention to details. Each piece is handmade and crafted to perfection, unlike most of the up-market ones, which only has well designed packaging. Besides its flowery appearance, Lumont’s chocolates are also made up of innovative flavours and textures.

This chocolate bonanza will take you through my top ten flavours. So please just try not to drool too much as I try my best to bring out its juicy flavours using mere alphabets. You need the money to their chocolates, not a new keyboard!

  1. Raspberry Truffle: The core was full of berry goodness – its outer coating was totally refreshing.
  2. Lavender Truffle: The lavender comes through in the most calming manner, subtle but classy, rich and creamy as well.
  3. Dark Rocher: You cannot go wrong with the dark one. Deep and gorgeous chocolate accompanied with nuts, my, my, it just adds a crunchy notch that I really love.
  4. Honey Lime Leaf: Unexpectedly refreshing and fun. See what I mean when they push boundaries? I wouldn’t have thought of pairing honey and lime and stuffing it into chocolates, and making it taste good too.
  5. Pistachio Classic: This is indeed a classic. Love the combination of pistachio and chocolate; and to think I thought chocolate tasted best with hazelnuts only.
  6. Sesame Chip: One of my favourites. Love how crunchy the sesame filling is. I’m a huge fan of sesame and I adore this piece.
  7. Green Tea Mint : Yes, it might sound weird at first, and you’re probably wondering why they pair green tea with mint. Surprisingly, even the sceptic in me got converted. It is really good. Encased in white chocolate, the green tea infused mint filling works wonders. A nice refreshing piece of heaven.
  8. Milk Latte: Eating this was like drinking chocolate; it just sent chills to my spine. Yes, I love my latte milky.
  9. Dark Espresso: I like my espresso strong, and this piece of chocolate packs a punch, with its rich aromatic coffee undertones. The coffee comes through pretty well, I must say.
  10. Brandy: When you have good chocolate, you don’t need to do much to it. With that said, I think the brandy complemented the chocolate in the best way possible. Strong, stoic, and domineering – in a good way of course!

Lumont’s cupcakes have also been selling like hot cakes. Moist and flavourful, they are surprisingly healthy. Made with olive oil and low in sugar, these cups of delight are also free from transfats (since they don’t use margarine or shortening). They come in more than 10 flavours ranging from banana walnut to blueberry and of course, chocolate.

I heard they offer sugar free chocolates in flavours suggested by their customers! I want 500 grams of triple dark espresso chocolate please!

What I admire about Lumont’s attitude towards chocolate making is that they are not afraid to experiment and innovate. It’s all about pushing boundaries and bringing chocolate where it hasn’t gone before. Lumont is definitely a refreshing addition to our shores, and I think I might just go back for more chocolate later. All this writing only made my chocolate craving stronger!

Drop by Lumont Chocolatier at AMK Hub # B2 – 34 or Parco Bugis Junction # B1 – 13, between the hours of 10am to 9pm daily.
