AN ADVERTISING agency in Europe has created controversial tray liners for Burger King that shows an onion clearing the airport security, stripped and with its pants down. Yes, you read right. An onion. With its pants down.

According to the website www.ideasandbox.com, the artwork is part of a series called Veg City, created by an ad agency called .start. The campaign seems to be for use only in certain European countries, and thus won’t make it to Asia or Singapore. Earlier themes included a Red Light City, Halloween, and New Year’s Eve.

	“Burger King is using the airport security screening metaphor ― blocking bad people from getting through the gates ― as a way to convey that they (Burger King) similarly screen for only quality ingredients. But what the hell is going on in this picture?

“First I saw a nervous looking onion. Then I noticed it had its pants down. Then I noticed the angry pickle…and then the examination glove?! It seems that the Onion depicted in this image isn’t a quality ingredient. Yikes.
		New Years Eve

“The Onion is standing in the middle of the airport with his pants around his ankles while an angry, brawny ‘pickle’ slips on a examination glove in preparation for a body cavity search,” ideasandbox.com writes.”

The ad campaign is supposed to be parodying computer and video games like “Vice City” and Grand Theft Auto and illustrates how the burger joint uses only the freshest ingredients in their products.
