Japanese BBQ Grill
This is how it should be done..

I found out that I was good at barbecuing – all you have to do is give me a ready pit with hot burning charcoals and I guarantee you nicely grilled meat. Okay, maybe I omitted out one part. I did all of that at a restaurant. Aburiya is equipped with well marinated and nicely sliced meats with a ready grill, thus cutting down all the hassle of a traditional Barbeque. Although I felt rather useless at the end because all I did was to place the raw meat onto the grill and wait for it to cook, I enjoyed the meal nevertheless.

There are various marinates you can choose from – Miso, Tare or Shio. Just let them know and it’ll be served to you within minutes.

JAPANESE CHARCOAL GRILL !
My companion and I ordered Jo Karubi (Prime Short Rib - beef) with Tare marinade, Kurobuta Rosu (Pork Belly) in Miso marinade and Lamb Ami (Lamb with assorted vegetables in special Aburiya Marinade).

For some fibre, we decided to get the Yasai Mori (Assorted Vegetables for Grilling) – garlic, capsicum, Japanese leek, mushrooms, onion and corn.

Our favourite has got to be the Jo Karubi. The beef was fresh and flavorsome. Tender and juicy, it was clearly the highlight of our uber delicious dinner. Both the lamb and pork were equally satisfying. I like to think that it was my grilling that made the food tasty but alas, it was obviously useless to try to claim that huge honour. We had two other dishes – Omurice and Tegutan Soup (spicy soup with minced beef). The omurice was served like a baked rice dish instead of the traditional egg wrapped technique. It still tasted good though, and the soup wasn’t really spicy too. It added a nice touch to our meal.

Aburiya is the place to go for those of you who have always wanted to be the main chef at barbecues but just simply have no talent. Or if you just want delicious Japanese food at a reasonable price. Either way, you have nothing to lose!
