The brownie arrived looking very cute and tasty on a frying pan, topped with white and dark Hershey chocolate bits. My friendly waiter then proceeded to place the scoop of ice cream onto the hot plate, resulting in a sizzle and a small wisp of smoke.
I was pretty upset that they chose to place the beautiful ice cream on the hot plate instead of on top of the brownie itself (a la mode style). I can surely do without the elaborate sizzling presentation for ice cream, which doesn’t melt start in seconds.
So after sacrificing a quarter of my precious scoop of chocolate ice cream to take a few appetising pictures of the dessert, I scooped it up onto its rightful place: atop the warm brownie.
The chocolate brownie was enough to satisfy my sweet tooth. It tasted warm and spongy and sweet (with the help of its chocolate toppings). With the ice cream, the contrasting temperatures merged wonderfully. Bliss.
I also bought a packet of their Muesli
cookies. They have an assortment of about seven types, all made in-house and attractively packaged. I was a little doubtful about my packet of cookies (I only bought it with the intention of sharing it with my colleagues, really!) because I’m not a fan of hard cookies. I like mine soft and gooey like Subway’s.
There’s so much packed into this cookie that you can hardly taste the biscuit. The walnuts, raisins, and other unidentifiable grains make it soft to chew on, so it’s another thumbs up from me.
