Having freelanced his way into collaborations with MTV, National Youth Council, Red Bull, and the Children’s Cancer Foundation, Soh Ee Shaun has so much more yet to colour and doodle. 88DB presents to you the man with a sole mission: Brighten up Singapore.

Give us a background of your career.
I worked as an intern in Nickelodeon in 2003, and did some freelance work as a graphic designer and illustrator before joining Republic Polytechnic as a facilitator in the School of Technology for the Arts.

What qualities do you admire most in an artist?
Artists who dare to be different, have a really unique style, who don't give up and keep drawing and experimenting with different techniques. I think artists who have a sense of humour are really cool too.

What qualities do you think lack in Singaporean women?
Singaporean women are the hottest women on the planet...they don't lack anything.

How important are your looks to you?
Hmmm. I'm not too big on looks, personality counts a lot more for me. Style is also important.

How much “me-time” do you give yourself every week?
All the time? Haha.

What's the best thing about your job?
I have flexible hours, great colleagues and a lot of fun on the job doing creative work and interacting with cool students.

What's the unhealthiest thing you do?
Biting my nails.

What would you do if you had an impromptu day off?
I'd probably just stay at home and sleep in.

What is your vision of an ideal life?
I have a pretty ideal life right now. But I guess if I had a cat that wouldn't shed fur around the house that would be more ideal.

When would you consider yourself as accomplished?
When people around the world know who I am and recognise my artwork. But that would take a while to happen (if it ever does).

What are your views on fatherhood?
I think being a dad is cool. I'd like to be one soon. Children are fun.

How in control of your finances are you?
I've been in debt ever since I bought my house.

What's number 1 on your personal to do list right now?
Being happy!
